Description

Siobhan Vida Ashmole, and Jyotsna Maan were funded through separate channels to attend “Wired Differently: Creating a Team Culture Where All Minds Can Thrive”. This course, hosted by Lana Jelenjev, was pitched as a way to create more inclusive spaces for neurodiverse individuals and teams in the workplace. I (Siobhan) was so impressed by Lana’s initial welcoming webinar, and had written an article for the CoLab on my learnings, and was then invited to attend the full course on a scholarship. This guide attempts to capture the most essential tools, theory and practices offered through the course, representing a cross section of the ‘best practices’ from the field from a variety of academic, grassroots, and psychology practitioners.

This is not my original thinking, although I do offer some context/ interpretation for self-organised spaces within the lens of permaculture ethics. I find this important especially as the issues faced occur within the context of the systems we live in.

We offer it here in the hope that it will inspire you to explore and use some of the techniques outlined in order to bring more inclusivity into your own teams, work life and organisational culture.

This document was produced by Siobhan Vida Ashmole as part of the IOT team. This work was funded by the Next Steps Project as part of the International Permaculture CoLab.
