Tecnologia Social – Parte 1

Os “Domingos de Permacultura” são encontros mensais que começaram em Dezembro 2019 em modo presencial (1 dia inteiro) e desde Março 2020 estão em formato online (2 horas no Zoom). O objectivo inicial foi de aproximar a permacultura a pessoas interessadas mas que não têm possibilidade de participar num curso de vários dias. Os encontros são organizados e facilitados por um grupo de 3 vizinhos do interior do Algarve, todos praticantes e formadores de Permacultura. Cada sessão tem um tema específico dentro da variedade de temas que abrange a Permacultura. As sessões são uma mistura orquestrada de apresentações teóricas, dinâmicas de grupo, debates, partilhas e surpresas.

History: “Domingos de Permacultura” started in December 2019 with the intention to bring Permaculture closer to those who cannot, for whatever reason, participate on a several day course, but are keen on learning. So I invited 3 permie neighbours, who were also my colleagues on a Permaculture Teacher Training in October 2019, to join me in creating an all-day-long event, once a month, covering different Permaculture topics each time. Not only does it help spread Permaculture locally, but it is also a training ground for us as facilitators.

We managed 3 live, face-to-face Sunday sessions (Dec 2019, Jan 2020, Feb 2020) before Covid-19 appeared. Those included group dynamics, presentations on the topic and then practical work in the afternoon.

When the pandemic started we went online, keeping the Domingos de Permacultura on Sundays but condensing into 2-hour sessions in the afternoon. The audience broadened geographically and people have been happy with our efforts to keep the project going. We hope to return to the original Live format someday, but have also had some people say that it would be good to maintain the online version as well. A combination would mean going Blended – how about that?! 🙂

Once we went online we started inviting speakers to join us in sharing their expertise. After the presentations, we generally open up to discussion/Q&A, sometimes bringing key-questions to the group, and sometimes mixing in an activity that covers an aspect of the topic.

So far the events have been 100% in Portuguese, but we can translate if desired.
The events are free, open to donations.
